11″ x 10″ x 3″ Approx. – The Mists of Avalon Gazing Bowl

Many times pools of water were used for scrying and seeing visions, and also as a place to stop and find refreshment. “The Mists of Avalon,” a book written by Marion Zimmer Bradley, was later made into a movie, and the magical gazing pool was a very important part of the story. This story tells of the legend of Arthur and Morgaine. The pool of water in this gazing bowl symbolizes the inner well of wisdom, a place within us where we can reflect and listen to our intuition and inner soul.

The design carved on the bowl is similar to the cover of the Chalice Well in Glastonbury, England. Glastonbury is said only be separated from the magic of Avalon by a thick mist. Fill the bowl with water and float flowers, and add special rocks or crystals. It also makes a welcome water bowl for outdoor creatures or pets.

We make our plaques and stepping stones using cement (not a petroleum product such as plastic or resin.) Cement withstands the elements much better than resin. The original design is hand carved, then a mold is made. Each plaque or stone is unique, cast by hand, stained and sealed. All our art is handmade in our studio in Willits, Mendocino County, California, USA.

Each plaque and stone has a sturdy hanger. The Garden Stones may be hung up or used as stepping stones. Our plaques may be enjoyed in the garden, on a patio wall or fence, or in your home. Bring the magic of Celtic Art into your garden and home!
