STEPPING STONES

(all designs are original and copyrighted)

These stones are approximately 12.5" across.

The Green Man and Green Woman images bring us memories of past centuries: Mysteries of the forest and Robin Hood, seasonal festival celebrations such as May day, and the Celts' gratitude for the return of the sun and a bountiful harvest.

The Greenman Stone

The Greenman is the Celtic God of the Woodlands; He takes care of the green and growing things and protects the forest creatures. The Greenman archetype symbolizes our oneness with the earth. The plants that make up his face represent the life that is found in the natural plant world, and in the earth itself. His images appear as far back as the 11th century.

Celtic Spiral Stone

Spirals can be seen in every aspect in nature. We see them in the physical forces which shape the Earth - the tides of the ocean, the winds in the atmosphere - and within life itself. Often plants and the horns and shells of animals grow in spiral formations.

The patterns of life are like the spiral, starting at the center and moving ever outward. Our lives wind back around our center, yet never return to exactly the same place.

Some suggest the ancient Celtic spiral represents the Triple Goddess of the three ages of womanhood. This "Spiral of Life" is found on many ancient Irish stone carvings - the most famous of which is Newgrange, found in County Meath, Ireland, which dates back to 2500 BC. Many think the Celtic Spiral symbolizes the seasons of life and the cycles of time: Life, death, and rebirth.

Inscription:

"Those who plant the seeds of kindness
harvest a bounty of love."

A wonderful wedding
or housewarming gift.

TAO, "The Journey of Life" Stone

The Tao is the journey of life. Tao reflects the natural way, the eternal rhythm of the universe and the relationship of man and woman within it. Tao is a wholeness stemming from balance, and a harmonious union of interacting opposites or elements: Fire, water, heaven & earth. This design of the “Early Heaven” arrangement works with Fung Shui and helps us to seek balance and equilibrium, and to be in harmony with the environment.

This octagonal-shaped piece combines both metaphysical and spiritual energies. The trigrams (line combinations) are arranged in opposite pairs. This piece helps to attract positive energies to the home and deflects negative energies. The Tao symbol is in the center.

Inscription:

"Positive energies flowing like a river are welcome in my home."

Also "Health, Happiness and Long Life"
and the Chinese characters for each one.
